If you follow influencers on Twitter, you already know about the beef Nouriel Roubini and Arthur Hayes had at the Asia Blockchain Summit. The much vociferous NYU Professor Nouriel Roubini and the CEO of BitMEX Arthur Hayes have had their differences debated out loud during the summit.
The CEO of Roubini Macro Associates approached BitMEX CEO and fellow benefactor Arthur Hayes in a Twitter post to discharge the video of a discussion between the two, named by the coordinators as the “Tangle in Taipei,” at the Asia Blockchain Summit. Arthur controls the rights to the recording of the discussion and hasn’t permitted it to go live. The group of attendees were also banished from taking any pictures or recordings of the debate.
Roubini also tweeted saying:
“Another @CryptoHayes scam: he didnt allow the blockchain conference to record our debate or beam it live. He controls the only recording of it and will only release heavily edited “highlights”. I destroyed @CryptoHayes in the debate and he is hiding. RELEASE THE TAPE YOU COWARD!”
Indicating a few ongoing outrages in the part, Roubini focused on key principles of digital forms of money in the discussion, mocking its innovation, security, and absence of regulations. Although this not the first time, NYU Prof is known to make anti-Bitcoin remarks at conferences all around the globe.
Not just this, to rub salt in the wound, Hayes told the much infuriated Roubini,
“Don’t worry our tapes will exposure your thin grasp of economics and technology. After seeing these tapes, I would be surprised if you were allowed into any higher learning institution.”
In his latest tweet, he even mocked Roubini by posting:
In addition to this, Samson Mow the Chief Strategy Officer of Blockstream kept tweeting about what Hayes and Roubini debated. He made a thread on their debate and tweeted saying:
Roubini talking about cold storage. Put your private keys in a vault. If you lose it you’re out of luck.
